About us
Moore Tutoring Solutions is a team of ACT and math specialists with one shared conviction: families shouldn't pay for time — they should pay for progress.
Our story
Moore Tutoring Solutions started the way most tutoring does: one tutor, one whiteboard, hourly sessions. And we kept watching the same story repeat — a family hires a tutor, the student "does an hour" every week, everyone feels productive, and six months later the score hasn't moved.
The problem wasn't the students, and it usually wasn't the tutors. It was the model. Hourly tutoring has no finish line, no defined goal, and no one accountable for the outcome. The incentive is to keep the sessions going, not to end them with a result.
So we rebuilt the whole thing. We designed programs instead of sessions — each with a target at the end and measurement in between. And we split the work into two roles: Jon Jay Moore, our founder, designs and reviews every program personally, while sessions are delivered by contracted tutors — recent high school graduates chosen because the material is still fresh in their heads and students genuinely relate to them. And we put a number on everything, because what gets measured gets improved.
Our mission
Every decision we make runs through one filter: does this move the student's number — their ACT composite, their math grade, their confidence walking into the test?
We do one thing: ACT Math and the coursework behind it. A practice focused on the section worth a third of the composite beats a generalist spread across four.
We recommend the smallest program that gets the job done — and we turn away engagements we don't believe in.
You get the same progress data we use internally. No "trust us" — just reports.
The team
Behind each program are two roles: our founder, who designs the plan and reviews progress with you, and a hand-picked tutor who runs the sessions.

Recent high school graduates hand-picked by Jon Jay — the tested material is still fresh in their heads, and students find a tutor a few years ahead of them far easier to open up to than another adult at a whiteboard.
Recent grads who just aced Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Precalculus themselves — aligned to your student's actual coursework so the semester grade and the ACT math foundation rise together.
What makes us different
You buy a defined outcome with a defined timeline. When the program ends, it ends — no perpetual weekly billing. And if the outcome doesn't arrive, we hand back four weeks.
Diagnostics, practice tests, and progress reports on a fixed cadence. You'll never wonder whether it's working.
Sessions that respect how high schoolers actually work — clear goals, visible progress, and tutors they don't dread seeing.
The best way to understand how we work is to talk through your student's situation with our founder.
