We sell programs, not hours, so the price depends on the outcome you're buying. The Minimum Package (a personalized self-paced study plan plus monthly practice tests) runs at a low monthly rate you can cancel anytime; the Score Builder and Premium Package are 12-week programs you can pay monthly or up front, and either way the fee covers everything — sessions, practice tests, materials, and reporting. Every exact price is listed on the Programs page, and the consultation tells you which one your student actually needs.

Because hourly billing rewards the wrong thing. When a tutor is paid per hour, the incentive is more hours — not a finished result. Our programs have a defined goal and a defined end date, which puts the accountability where it belongs: on us. You know the total cost up front, and it never quietly grows.

It's our deliberately low-cost entry point, and it's exactly two things: a personalized, self-paced study plan built for your student, and a monthly timed ACT practice test with a full score report so you can see whether the plan is working. It does not include tutoring sessions of any kind — that's what keeps it affordable. It's a genuinely good fit for self-motivated students, and many families start there before upgrading to one-on-one.

Yes. The Score Builder and Premium Package program fees can be split into monthly installments over the length of the program. We'll go over the options on your consultation call.

Yes. Families often start with the Minimum Package and move up to one-on-one once they see the structure working. When you upgrade, what you've already paid counts toward the larger program — you're never penalized for starting small.

Most sessions run online over video with a shared digital whiteboard, which lets us match your student to the best tutor for their need rather than the closest one. In-person options may be available depending on your location — ask on the consultation call.

Two people, in two different roles. Jon Jay Moore, our founder, designs your student's program personally and reviews every progress report before it reaches you. The sessions themselves are run by a tutor Jon Jay selects — deliberately a recent high school graduate, because the material is still fresh in their head and students find someone a few years ahead of them far more relatable than an older instructor. If a match isn't clicking, we change it. No drama, no restart fee.

Practice-test scores typically start moving within the first four to six weeks, once the diagnostic-driven plan takes hold. That's also why our shortest one-on-one program runs about three months — real, durable score gains need at least one full cycle of learn, practice, test, and adjust.

Less than you'd think. You'll get progress reports on a regular cadence and a mid-program check-in call. The structure, scheduling, and accountability are our job — most parents tell us the best part is not having to be the homework police anymore.

Life happens — sessions rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice are made up at no charge. Since you've bought a program rather than hours, a missed week doesn't burn money; we adjust the plan to keep the goal on track.

Often, yes — because "unmotivated" is usually what stuck looks like from the outside. Visible progress is the best motivator we know: when a student watches their practice score climb, effort follows. That said, we're honest in the consultation. If we don't think the timing is right, we'll say so.

No one can honestly guarantee a specific number on an official test, and we'd be skeptical of anyone who does. What we do promise is movement, and we put money behind it: if your student doesn't improve on two of their first three practice ACTs, their next four weeks are free. Beyond that you get a real diagnostic, a plan built for your student's target, measurement you can see, and a program we only take on if we believe the goal is reachable.

It's deliberately simple. Your student takes practice ACTs on a set cadence, starting with the timed diagnostic in lesson one. If they don't show improvement on two of their first three practice ACTs, we give you the next four weeks free. You don't have to file anything or argue about it — we're the ones scoring the tests, so we'll see it before you do and tell you.

Two things make that a real promise rather than a slogan. Every test is timed under the same conditions, so the numbers are actually comparable. And you see the same score reports we do, which means you can check our math.

No — and that's deliberate. We tutor ACT Math and the high school math behind it, period. On the enhanced ACT, the composite is the average of the English, Math, and Reading scores (Science is optional and doesn't count toward the composite), so math alone is a full third of the score — roughly every 3 points of math improvement moves the composite by about 1 point. It's also the most trainable section, and a practice focused on one section beats a generalist spread across all of them. If your student needs more composite points than math alone can deliver, we'll tell you that plainly on the consultation call.

Absolutely. Our math programs stand on their own for Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Precalculus. The bonus is that this is exactly the math the ACT tests — so if your student takes the ACT later, the foundation is already built.

It's a focused call with Jon Jay, our founder — set aside up to 45 minutes so nothing gets rushed. We'll talk through your student's current scores and grades, their target schools or goals, and their timeline. The call ends with a specific program recommendation and a start date — including, sometimes, the recommendation not to buy anything yet. Lesson one then opens with a full timed diagnostic (one ACT math section on the enhanced format, under an hour), and if it shows something different, we adjust the plan.
